U.S. Ambassador to Seoul Mark Lippert held a town hall meeting with students of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) on March 24, 2016 at the Obama Hall of the Seoul Campus.
Around 500 students and staffs joined the gathering, and freely exchanged questions on various topics. Following a brief greeting made by Lippert in Korean, the ambassador asserted the importance of the bilateral security, economy, diplomacy, and cultural exchanges.
The Obama Hall got its name after U.S. President Barack Obama visited HUFS in March 2012 and delivered a special speech. The commemorative event came four years after the president's landmark visit to the South Korean university.
