■ HUFS climbs 10 places globally from last year, safeguarding the 8th spot in the national university rankings
On June 6, 2018, British education specialists Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) released its latest world university rankings. According to QS, HUFS ranks 8th in the national university rankings and 387th in the global university rankings. This shows HUFS's steady climb in the rankings for the third consecutive year.
The QS World University Rankings assess universities around the world based on six metrics. They include academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per faculty, faculty/student ratio, international faculty ratio, and international student ratio. This year, HUF showed high performance in faculty/student ratio, international faculty ratio, and international student ratio. And this strong performance drove up its overall ranking.
More specifically, in the QS national university rankings, HUFS holds the top position in international faculty ratio and third place in international student ratio. In terms of faculty/student ratio, it occupies the 123rd place globally. This demonstrates its prominence in global learning thanks to its well-established global network and academic infrastructure.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2018 released this March reconfirmed HUFS's prominence in the Arts and Humanities. It is included in the world rankings in three related subjects. It climbed 18 spots from the 150th place last year to the 132nd spot (5th nationally).
