■ HUFS ranked 7th in Arts & Humanities
HUFS has been ranked high in Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject 2019, demonstrating its academic prominence. On February 27, 2019, the British education specialist QS released its 2019 university rankings in 48 subjects across five broad subject areas. According to QS, HUFS ranks in the top 200 internationally in three subject areas and has reentered the top 500 in the area of Economics and Econometrics.
As an elite institution in the Arts and Humanities, HUFS made it into the rankings in the subjects of Modern Languages, Linguistics, and English Language & Literature as well as in the subject area of Economics & Econometrics.
More specifically, HUFS was ranked 3rd nationally (45th globally) in Modern Languages. It also placed 3rd nationally (in the range of 51st-100th globally) in Linguistics, and 4th (in the range of 151st-200th globally) in English Language & Literature. In the subject area of Economics and Econometrics, HUFS reentered the top 500 universities worldwide after last reaching that high in 2017.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject assess universities around the world based on four metrics: academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per faculty, and H-index citations. In recent years, HUFS has been ranked high not only in the QS rankings but also in the JoongAng Ilbo rankings as well as other university rankings.
