HUFS received an achievement award from the Azerbaijan Republic on November 19, 2019.
2019 marks the 101st year for the foundation of the Azerbaijan Republic and the 100th year the nation has started diplomatic relations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Azerbaijan Republic presented the award in recognition of HUFS’ contributions in forging developments between the two nations. Currently, about 120 students are studying in the Department of Turkish and Azerbaijani, learning about the Azerbaijan Republic’s language, culture, politics, and economy. The Department of Turkish and Azerbaijani at HUFS is the only educational program in Asia that teaches Azerbaijan studies, which has been integrated to the Department of Turkish in 2008.
The event was attended by the Azerbaijani Ambassador Ramzi Teymurov, the Azerbaijani Consul Toghrul Aliyev, HUFS President Kim In-Chul, Dean of International Affairs Oh Jong-jin, Director of Public Relations Na Song-ju, and Dean of Planning and Coordination Lee Tae-wook.
