HUFS students in Arabic Studies participated in the 2020 Asian Arabic Debate Championship held at International Islamic University Malaysia in Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur from January 31 to February 3 and earned the grand prize in the non-Arab Participants category.

The HUFS students were Park Suk-han, Lim Dong-gyoon, Ji Sang-jin, and Jung Do-hyun under the guidance of Professor Yoon Eun-kyeong of HUFS Department of Arabic Studies. A total of 32 university teams from 20 nations participated in the championship and the HUFS team won the grand prize with their fluent Arabic skills and logical presentations. In addition HUFS student Park Suk-han won first place for the best speaker award for non-Arab participants and student Ji Sang-jin came in second place.
