HUFS has been ranked 8th among Korean universities and 392nd globally (407th globally in 2019) in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings released on June 10, 2020, by the British global education assessment firm QS.

The QS World University Rankings assessed 5,564 universities from around the world. The six criteria for assessment of world universities are academic reputation, citations per faculty member, faculty/student ratio, employer reputation, the proportion of international faculty, and the proportion of international students. Compared to last year, employer reputation increased by 92 ranks, and the proportion of international faculty ranked 1st and the proportion of international students ranked 4th, driving up the international competence of HUFS.

Meanwhile, HUFS ranked 59th among the Global Top 100 Innovative Universities by the first World's Universities with Real Impact (WURI) ranking on June 11, 2020. WURI aims to discover innovative universities through new education and research efforts.
