On July 16, Ambassador of China to Korea Xing Haiming visited the Seoul Campus Smart Library for a signboard hanging ceremony of the Confucius Institute. At the ceremony, Confucius Institute Director Park Heung-soo and Chinese Director Myo Chun-mei hosted the ceremony, and HUFS President Kim In-chul gave the opening remarks in which he emphasized the future of Korea-China cultural partnerships.

Ambassador Xing Haiming emphasized the historic friendly relationships between Korea and China, and said that despite facing adversities due to the COVID-19 situation the two countries are cooperating and setting an example for the world with much more potential in the future.
After the ceremony, Ambassador Xing Haiming gave a lecture at the FILA Acushnet Hall in the Smart Library on the topic of 互学互鉴,合作共赢 (coexisting through cooperation and learning from each other) to students and held a Q&A session afterwards in a friendly atmosphere.
Prior to Ambassador Xing Haiming’s visit, the Education Councilor of the Chinese Embassy visited HUFS for discussions on the Confucius Institute and gave a lecture on “Korea-China educational cooperation after COVID-19.”
