On October 8, a group of 80 people—including HUFS Chairman Kim Chong-chul, President Kim In-chul, HUFS administrators, and employees—attended the Global Campus 40th Anniversary and front gate remodeling ceremony.

HUFS Global Campus began as Yong In University in 1979 and was elevated to university status in October, 1980, and reached the 40th Anniversary this year. At the ceremony, the past achievements were highlighted and the Global Campus vision was shared, along with a ceremony for the remodeling of the front gate.
The ceremony started with Global Campus Dean of Academic Affairs Kim Yong-ae’s remarks on the history of the Global Campus, followed by the Chairman and President’s opening remarks, 40th Anniversary photo exhibit and UCC Awards ceremony, front gate remodeling progress report, appreciation award ceremony, front gate tape cutting, luncheon ceremony, and art exhibit for the opening of the GPS lounge.

In his opening remarks, President Kim In-chul said that the 40th Anniversary is a time to reminisce about the history of the Global Campus and congratulate the endeavors of the employees and students to improve the university. There are plans to host an integrated anniversary ceremony with the Seoul Campus at the Global Campus next year.
In addition, Chairman Kim Chong-chul commented that the remodeling of the front gate represents the bright future of the Global Campus and that everyone should put in more efforts to elevate the status.
Meanwhile, due to safety precautions for COVID-19, the ceremony was held on a small scale and the preparations for the 40th Anniversary such as academic conferences, exhibits, and special lectures were postponed to next year.
