Among the 51 finalists of the 2020 National Exam for Foreign Service Officer Candidates, HUFS produced 8 finalists—6 candidates for general diplomacy, 2 for regional diplomacy (Latin America, Russia & CIS)—as reported by the Ministry of Personnel Management on Nov. 29.
For general diplomacy, a total of 1,166 examinees applied and 47 became finalists, 6 of whom were from HUFS. For regional diplomacy, a total of 68 applied and 4 became finalists, 2 of whom were from HUFS.
Notably, the 2020 exam marks the first time a finalist was produced by the Division of Language & Diplomacy, which was created to nurture talents in diplomacy, elevating its status as an esteemed diplomat academy.
HUFS Career Development Center Director Lee Ki-hyun said that HUFS is offering study rooms, various special lectures, supervising professors, practice tests and interviews for support, and starting next year will create a Public Sector Human Resources Development Institute for more effective and systemic support.
