HUFS student team “Water Friendliness” won the Grand Prize at the 2021 Tap Water Idea Realization Contest for the Joint Water Conservation Education Project for Future Generations. The competition was co-hosted by Korea Water Resources Corporation and Citizen’s Network for Tap Water. The student team consists of Kim Eun-Hye, Jung Joo-Ahn, and Choi Min-Young (Dept. of Environmental Studies) as well as Choi Eun-Gyung (double major in Interpretation and Translation for International Trade and Relations in English-Speaking Areas and Environmental Studies).

With the aim of raising public awareness about the value of tap water as a public good and expanding tap water education for future generations, this competition invites college students to develop tap water education content. The “Water Friendliness” team won the Grand Prize from the President of the civic group after receiving high scores for creating kid-friendly, fun, and easy-to-understand content and aptly describing the environmental benefits of tap water.
