HUFS Global Trading Experts Incubating Program (GTEP, Director Baek Jae-Seung) accomplished a feat of winning the KITA Chairman’s Award at the 2021 Undergraduate & Graduate Students’ FTA Promotion Content Competition held on October 18, 2021 (Monday).

The Competition was organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) to develop content that can boost graduate students’ interest in how to utilize FTAs and encourage companies to capitalize on FTAs.

At the Competition, the HUFS GTEP Team (Students Park Soo-Bin, Woo Ji-Yeon, Lee Yoon-Ji, and Han Hye-Joo) created a witty video content to promote the FTA Consultation Call Center (1380) and the All-in-one FTA Platform, earning the honor of winning the Excellence Award in the video content category from the Chairman of KITA. To better promote the 1380 call center to small businesses, the student members spent almost a month on creating a web drama full of funny moments and helpful information. Building it on a story of a dating couple, they tried to convey that the 1380 call center provides detailed FTA information anywhere so readily and friendly that even a boy friend is jealous of it.

HUFS GTEP also participated in the five-day international food fair TUTTO FOOD 2021 held in Milan, Italy from October 22, 2021 (Friday). Coined from Italian word ‘Tutto, which means all in English, and food, the TUTTO FOOD is one of the largest food exhibitions held in Italy. Launched in 2009, it marks its 7th anniversary this year. Held in the world’s largest scale at Fiera Milano, it drew some 150,000 visitors and some 2,700 companies despite the COVID 19 constraints.

Seven Korean food companies joined the exhibition. They mainly presented traditional and processed Korean food, including fermented dishes, salt, and processed beverage. HUFS GTEP helped five of them, Todang Food, Gadbawee Food, Chobless, Darcha Company, and Haeyeoreum, with presenting their food items to the international audience. HUFS GTEP student members offered support throughout the entire exhibition from booth planning to product promotion and buyer consultation, gaining first-hand capacity-building experience in international trade fair.
