[GLOBAL HUFS] HUFS bids farewell to its 11th President and welcomes 12th President Park Jeong-Woon

Park Jeong-Woon, who took office as the 12th President of HUFS, stated in his inauguration address, “I promise that I will not spare any effort in fulfilling my mission of driving ‘changes and innovation’ in response to growing calls for a paradigm shift in today’s higher education, helping HUFS take a great leap forward to become the nation’s most prestigious private academic institution as well as a global hub of international education.” To achieve this goal, he presented the three parts of his vision: ‘campus-specific development’, ‘global creative convergence talent education system’, and ‘global expert platform-building’. He added, “As an international education hub, HUFS will nurture global creative convergence talents who will lead the future.” He also stressed that HUFS needs to rise to meet the call of history and the future by saying, “When all HUFS members stand firmly united to advance our academic environment so that students grow and thrive, HUFS can reach the level where we can contribute to the development of our nation and the world.”

Expressing his aspiration to “stay focused, throughout [his] tenure, on leading HUFS to take another leap forward toward the goal of becoming the best private academic institution in Korea and, at the same time, a global hub of international education,” he pledged to fulfill all the responsibilities assigned to him as the 12th President of HUFS.

In his farewell remarks, the outgoing 10th and 11th HUFS President Kim In-Chul stated that HUFS is truly a blessed university. He stressed that, for an even better future, HUFS needs to lower the barriers between departments and make swift and future-oriented decisions based on the demands of the academic market, while also thanking all of those who stood behind him over the last eight years.
