■ HUFS signs MOU with Kyobo Securities for a lifelong learning program

On July 6, 2022 (Thursday), HUFS held a ceremony to sign an MOU with Kyobo Securities (CEOs Park Bong-Kwon and Lee Seok-Ki) to run a lifelong learning program at Conference Room No. 203 of the Main Building on the Seoul Campus. The MOU aims to build an academia-industry cooperation system between HUFS and Kyobo Securities to foster lifelong learning in the local community and provide local residents with lifelong learning opportunities.

During the signing ceremony, HUFS and Kyobo Securities agreed to cooperate in the areas of ▲ opening and promoting lifelong learning courses, ▲ exploring and developing lifelong learning content and demand, and ▲ revitalize lifelong learning programs. Under the MOU, the HUFS Institute for Continuing Education will open a course on stocks in the 2022 fall semester that begins this September. The course will offer lectures by Kyobo Securities experts on the basics of stock investment and stock market data available in daily life.

■ HUFS inks MOU with Seoul Nambu District Office of Education

HUFS Office of Admissions (Dean Jung Seok-Oh) signed an MOU with Seoul Nambu District Office of Education (Superintendent Hong Seong-Cheol, the “Office”) on June 21, 2022 (Tuesday), to lay the foundation for a high school credit system and nurture future talents.

Under the MOU, the two institutions will cooperate on multiple fronts to ▲ develop and operate a pilot district project for a high school credit system (Dadeoham Pilot Area under the jurisdiction of the Office), ▲ provide personnel and physical resources for future talent cultivation, ▲ run an education program to help teachers enhance their knowledge and expertise related to the new credit system, ▲ offer students college and career consulting and customized career experience programs, ▲ share and utilize the infrastructures of HUFS and secondary education institutions to propel the cooperation program, and ▲ push for other projects deemed necessary to achieve the goal of cooperation.

■ HUFS Institute of Central Asian Studies signs MOU with Yongin City’s Industry Promotion Agency

On June 14, 2022 (Tuesday), the HUFS Institute of Central Asian Studies (Head Sohn Yeong-Hoon) inked an MOU with Yongin City’s Industry Promotion Agency (Director Kim Yoon-Seok, the “Agency”) to cooperate in helping companies in Yongin City make entry into Northern countries.

Under the MOU, the two institutions will hold a presentation for companies and individuals in the city that are interested in Turkey, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, and other newly emerging countries. Through the presentation, HUFS and the Agency will explore market entry strategies into the Northern countries and provide counseling on business difficulties in the region based on their full cooperation to realize the goal of assisting companies in Yongin to make entry into the Northern countries.

■ Global Campus University Job Plus Center inks MOU with OOCHILPALGU for university-industry shared growth and expert cultivation

The On-Site Training Support Center of the HUFS Global Campus University Job Plus Center (Director Oh Seo-Hong) signed an MOU with OOCHILPALGU Co., Ltd., on April 19, 2022 (Tuesday), entitled “University-Industry Shared Growth and Expert Cultivation”.

OOCHILPALGU is a promising new startup that began as a college startup of HUFS students, winning “Promising Startup Team” certification from the Ministry of Education and the first prize at the National College Students’ Startup Idea Competition. Drawing on its members’ job search experiences, OOCHILPALGU has launched its Private Class, a 1:1 online career mentoring service to help students deal with their career and job-related problems.
