■ HUFS offers sexual assault prevention training for international students
HUFS Center for Korean Language & Culture (CKLC, Director Hong Jong-Myeong) offered sexual assault prevention training for international students (in undergraduate, graduate, and exchange programs) on July 20, 2022 (Wednesday). The two training sessions, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon, were held jointly with the Foreign Affairs Department of Dongdaemun Police Station (Chief Na Young-Min).
The sessions were led by Senior Police Officer Bang Si-Hyeon from the Intelligence and Security Affairs Division of the Police Station. Officer Bang said during the training, “I know that sexual crimes on college campuses have continuously been covered by the media, worrying both Korean and international students. The prevention and early detection of sexual violence is most important, and it is also important to report sexual violence to the police as soon as it occurs. I hope this training will help these students act on any such incident rapidly and accurately.”
