- Launched in 1971, HUFS’s unique global cultural event celebrates its 32nd anniversary this year.
- The festival served as a venue of cultural exchange where students from nine global folk culture societies from HUFS College of International and Area Studies, College of Central and East European Studies, and College of Interpretation and Translation at the Global Campus showcased folk dances and songs from around the world.

Marking its 32nd anniversary this year, the HUFS World Folk Culture Festival (WFC Festival) was held at Jukjeon Outdoor Music Hall of Yongin Cultural Foundation on September 27, 2022 (Tuesday). At the WFC Festival, held since 1971 to share the linguistic and cultural diversity of the HUFS community, students from nine global folk culture societies from HUFS College of International and Area Studies, College of Central and East European Studies, and College of Interpretation and Translation at the Global Campus performed folk songs and dances of their respective culture.
The nine global folk culture societies that participated were △ Калина (Dept. of Ukrainian Studies), △ Ὄνειροι пейте (Dept. of Greek Studies and Bulgarian Studies), △ Mazurka (Dept. of Polish), △ Los Jovenes (Dept. of Spanish Interpretation and Translation), △ РАДОСТИ (Dept. of Russian Studies), △ Tuwimbo (Div. of African Studies), △ Polka (Dept. of Czech and Slovak Studies), △ Shaandaar (Dept. of Indian Studies), and △ Nabillera (Dept. of Korean Studies). Having prepared their shows over the last year, they presented memorable performances in two sessions under the theme “World Travel.” During the intermission, hip hop club NRSC of Dankook University in Jukjeon presented an eye-catching performance, creating a unique stage that blended traditional and contemporary choreographies.
