On November 22, 2022 (Tuesday), the HUFS Department of Arabic (Chair Yoon Eun-Gyeong) invited Park Joon-Yong, South Korean Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, and held a dialogue session with students in Lecture Hall #404 of HUFS Humanities Hall. Celebrating Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit on the 17th (Thursday), the department arranged the event to raise students’ understanding of Saudi Arabia, with which South Korea is expected to strengthen cooperation, and broaden their knowledge on the diplomatic world.

During the one-hour event, Ambassador Park discussed various topics, including the country’s history and culture, Vision 2030, NEOM Project, and Korea-Saudi Arabia relations. After the dialogue, he held a lively Q&A session with the participating students.

Student Han Ye-Seul (Arabic, entry class of ’21) said of the event, “It was a precious opportunity to learn about the vivid stories of the diplomatic world. Hearing about real-life Saudi Arabia from the ambassador was very useful.”
