HUFS and Korean news channel YTN co-hosted the 9th YTN-HUFS Elementary School English Debating Championship from February 11 (Saturday) to 12 (Sunday), 2023. Held online for the fourth consecutive year since 2020 due to COVID-19, the two-day competition was joined by 79 student teams and a total of 316 students competing in heated debates for the Championship. The organizer selected topics of common interest, such as education, media, family, science and technology, justice, and the environment, encouraging the participating students to practice their debating skills on these general topics.

Teams winning all four debates in the four final rounds of the domestic and international leagues are given the ‘Superb’ title. This year’s ‘Superb’ title went to Team Dispute led by student Cho Soo-In and Team A Game led by student Song Si-Woo in the international league tournament and Team Peitho led by Yeo Joo-Eun in the domestic league tournament.
