On April 19, 2023 (Wednesday), at 10:30 am, HUFS held its 69th anniversary celebration in Aekyung Hall of the International Building on the Seoul Campus.

Presided over by Dean of Academic Affairs Yoon Seong-Woo, the ceremony kicked off with the HUFS history report by Dean of Planning and Coordination Kim Gwang-Ho, followed by commemorative remarks by Chairperson Kim Jong-Chul of the university foundation and HUFS President Park Jeong-Woon as well as congratulatory remarks by President Yang In-Jib of the HUFS Alumni Association.

During the ceremony, the Dongwon Education Award was presented to Professor Yoon Eun-Kyeong of the Department of Arabic Studies in the College of Asian Languages and Cultures for her exemplary teaching and service. The Outstanding Faculty and Staff Award were also handed out as well.

The culmination of the event was the HUFS AWARD, which honor HUFS alumni who have raised the profile and reputation of HUFS by contributing to the development of HUFS and society. This year’s award in the domestic and overseas fields went to CEO Gang Deok-Young of Korea United Pharm Inc. (International Economics and Law, entry class of ’65) and CEO Kevin S. Kim of Bank of Hope (English Linguistics, entry class of ’76), respectively.
